Studio & Class Bags

A studio bag is a different object from a gym bag. It carries a change of clothes, a bottle and a towel to one class and comes home again, so it is smaller, softer and expected to look like something a member would carry into a coffee shop afterwards.

That does not make the lining optional. It gets damp exactly like everything else, and because it is smaller there is less air in it, so an unlined studio bag turns unpleasant faster than a big holdall does. Ours are lined in a wipeable coated fabric with a vent, in a shape that does not look like sports equipment.

We fit an external mat carry — a compression strap or a sleeve — on the yoga and pilates shapes, sized to the roll rather than to a nominal length, because mats vary far more in rolled diameter than in length. We do not supply the mat.

Does a small studio bag really need a lining?

More than a big one does, in practice. There is less air inside and it is often shut immediately after class, so damp kit sits in a small closed volume. An unlined studio bag turns unpleasant noticeably faster than a large holdall with the same contents.

Will the mat strap fit our mats?

If you tell us the rolled diameter, yes. Mats vary far more in rolled diameter than in length, and a strap sized from a nominal length is the usual reason a mat carry does not hold. Send us a mat measurement, or a mat, and we will size to it.
