The fabric outlives the bag. The smell is what ends it.

Why we exist

Three things decide whether a gym bag survives, and none of them is on a normal quote.

**The lining.** An unlined fabric body holds moisture in its weave, which is where the smell lives. A coated, wipeable lining gives the moisture nowhere to sit and gives you something you can actually clean. It costs very little per unit and it is the first thing removed to hit a price.

**The wet compartment, properly built.** Separately lined in a coated fabric, seamed the full height of the divider rather than stopping short, and vented so what goes in wet is not sealed in for two days. A great many “wet pockets” are the same unlined fabric as the body with an open seam at the top, so water runs straight into the main compartment — which is the exact thing they were sold to prevent.

**Ventilation that is not just holes.** Air needs a way in and a way out. A single mesh panel on one face of a packed, zipped bag does essentially nothing. Mesh at opposite ends changes the behaviour completely.

What we actually make

Wet/dry gym bags with a separately lined wet compartment. Shoe-compartment bags with an end-loading vented tunnel. Ventilated mesh kit bags with mesh at both ends. Swim and pool bags lined throughout with drainage at the base. Studio bags sized for one class, with a mat carry sized to the rolled diameter. And member, staff-issue and retail ranges built to the same lining standard as the issued bags.

Every one of them has the lining, the venting and the wet compartment construction stated on the quote, and both capacities — total and usable main compartment — where a shoe tunnel takes volume out of the bag.

What we do not make

Barrel duffels, weekenders and wheeled holdalls. Backpacks and back-worn cinch bags. Insulated bags, cooler bags and lunch bags. Clear stadium bags. All different products built around different problems, and there are suppliers who do nothing else.

And we will not describe a print as chlorine-proof, or an antimicrobial finish as permanent, because neither is true.

Antimicrobial linings, honestly

We are asked for them constantly and we do quote them, with a caveat we say out loud before you order.

An antimicrobial finish is a treatment applied to a fabric. It has a service life, it washes and wears out, and its effect is on the fabric rather than on whatever is sitting inside the bag. It is a useful addition to a bag that can dry out.

It is not a replacement for one. If the choice is between an antimicrobial finish on an unlined unvented bag and a plain coated lining with mesh at both ends, take the second one every time.

How we price

No dollar figures on this site. Price moves with the size, the lining, the venting, the branding method and the quantity — and the lining is a much smaller lever on cost than most people expect and a much bigger one on how long the bag lasts. Send the details and a real quote comes back the same day, with a lowest-price guarantee if you are already holding a cheaper one. Ask that supplier what their lining is.

On branding

Embroidery, print or a woven label, and the choice interacts with the bag in a way that matters here more than on most products.

Stitching perforates a coated fabric. Embroidery onto a coated body needs the backing and the needle chosen so the decoration does not put a line of holes through the layer you paid for — it is one of the very few places a gym bag genuinely fails early, and it is entirely avoidable.

For anything going near chlorine, the branding method is chosen for the environment rather than from a sample book. For staff issue, a woven label usually gets worn where a large print does not.
